I have a pretty straight forward card tonight to share, I used one of the Gruffie Bears from Stampabilities, super sweet, but I realised after attempting this card 5 times that I so need a lot more practice on colouring of fur..LOL.

I took white card stock, trimmed it to size, stamped the image onto the card stock and coloured with Copics, adding a background technique using a dotting of the Copics to create shadows. I adhered this to black card stock, so that the image would stand out and added it with foam dimensionals to a trimmed piece of Basic Grey, White pattern paper. I then adhered this to a trimmed white card. Finishing the card by adding a sentiment banner that had the sentiment Hugs stamped onto it and pearls added either side.

I hope that you all will join me this week in having a little fun with this challenge...

Be sure to enter as I don't know about you but with all the new CHA stuff arriving soon at Simon Says, I know that the $50 shopping spree would come in quite handy...

Alrighty, for me it is back to commenting and hopefully a little bit of crafting tonight...

I hope you all have a wonderful night!

Cute!

Hi! So before heading back to work today, I thought that I would share card 2 from the February Card Kit from Simon Says, if you did not see yesterday's post, just scroll below and if you have not seen what the kits are all about go HERE.

With this card I used a pretty simple layout and all of the products that I created this card was contained in the kit, apart from the white string and white card base.

100_7307

I trimmed the pattern paper to be slightly smaller the then card front, added some string and adhered this to the front of the card, next I took one of the Jillibean Soup, what I call flash cards, adhered this to the front of the card along with a Puffy Heart Sticker..and let me tell you these are beyond cute. I then stamped a sentiment onto white card stock, cutting a V in one end and adhering this to the base of the flash card.

There you have it, super quick and even more so, because all the products were on hand and I did not have to think about what went with what...

Once again I hope that this card gives you another idea as to how to use the kit and have some fun playing...

Alright, I am off to grab some lunch and start to prepare myself for my return to work...

Have a wonderful day!

February Card Kit!

Hello my sweet friends...I am back, well at least I hope so, I had a massage today and although it hurt, I think it has done me the world of good, it was quite bad, a very bad pinched nerve that took a whole hour to release....thank you to everyone that has left the most wonderful supportive, concerning and loving comments it means the world to me. Also thank you for hanging in there with me whilst I was not sharing anything crafty with you all.

So I managed to have just a small play today and well to start me out with not much effort, I decided to break out my Simon Says February Card Kit, when this arrived the other day, I was totally drooling, I mean this little baby sold out in 48hrs, can you believe that??? I hope that you all were able to get your hands on this kit...

Be sure to pop on over to Simon Says and subscribe to the monthly kits this way you will be assured a kit...

The Simon Says team posted a tweet a couple of days ago with a little sneak of the new March kit and well I am giddy with excitement for this one to arrive...below is the little sneak of that kit....

What I love about the kits, is it is all there for you to create cards, it also shows ideas on how you can use the kit, Kristina Werner makes up card ideas and shares them in the kits...so over the next few days I will be sharing more ideas on how you can use your February kit....

I took different elements of design from Kristina and did my own look...here is the first of the cards and my favourite so far...

I took the ledger style pattern paper that was in the kit and trimmed it down slightly smaller then a card front, corner rounded the corners and adhered to a trimmed white card, that also had the corners rounded. I then took one of the vellum envelopes cutting off the flap section of the envelope and then trimming white card stock to fit inside the envelope, punching a border top using the Binding Edge punch, slipping this into the envelope, this also adds an extra spot for a message, I adhered the envelope to the front of the card with foam dimensionals. Moving onto the rest of the card, I took some circle punches, punching out more of the pattern paper from the kit, distressing the edges and adding a dusting of brushed corduroy, adhering all three together with a brad, adding to the centre of the circles a rose from the kit, adhering this along with a ticket that had tiny type letters added all to the front of the card with foam dimensionals. To complete the card, there was the cutest little heart punch within the kit, so I punched three hearts from another piece of pattern paper, adhering this down the left hand side of the card with foam dimensionals.

I just loved that everything was at hand, I did not have to think about it, apart from how I wanted to use the products...

So if I was going to do some enabling, it would be to hop on over to the Simon Says store and purchase a subscription, there is also a section there that should answer any questions that you have about the kit...

I hope that this card tonight gives you some inspiration to create something from the card kit or for that matter something similar with the products you have on hand.

Tomorrow is knuckle down into some DT projects and heading back to work...wish me luck!

Oh and the other products I used to create this card are listed below...

Have a wonderful night!

How About Some Fun Giveaways!

Hello everyone! So today, I said that I would be back here to share some fun and something exciting with you to tie you over whilst I am still recovering...

After, thinking the other day that my Blog Anniversary was dawning upon me, thinking that February was coming nearer and so it would be finally my 2 year anniversary in the blogging world, I went back through to find the date of my very first post and to my surprise, it had past, my date of blogging was in January, 2 years ago, for the life of me I don't know why I had it in my head that it would be February.

So I figured what the heck, lets have some fun with it, I have been cleaning out my craft room over the last couple of months, gathering goodies that I no longer use, plus ones that I had purchased set aside to do giveaways with, so bundling them together I realised I had a huge pile of things, so instead of giving this whole lot away to one lucky winner, why not split it into 2 piles and let 2 people have the chance of having some goodies for their craft room.

But that is not all, to share it even further and to thank everyone that has passed by this little old blog leaving support, comments that make me smile each day, I have decided to also throw in a $25 gift voucher to Simon Says, so this will be up for grabs also.

So each of the craft goodies collection have a broad range of great supplies..here is Blog Candy 1...

Blog Candy 2...

Lastly, $25 gift Voucher to Simon Says...

So now how to have a chance at winning one of these 3, leave me a comment on this blog post, letting me know what your favourite tool is and why?

You must only leave one comment per person, I will draw the winners via Random Org. You have until Tuesday 14th February, at 11.00pm (EST Australian Time) to enter.

Good Luck!!

I will leave a photo of the 3 of these Blog Candy Giveaways in the sidebar of my blog for easy searching...

Thanks to everyone for the last 2 years lets hope the years ahead are just as fun!!!

Have a wonderful night!!

Photo Challenge - Pocket Light!

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been around for the last couple of days, but with this back I have not been able to create anything as sitting at the desk just hurts too much, my posting over the next few days will be a bit sporadic so please bear with me whilst I recover.

I do have a little something to tie you over whilst I will be away from the crafting table, so you are going to want to come back tomorrow to check out what that will be....

As for today, my next photo for Carly's Photo Challenge is here, thankfully I took these photos on Monday prior to injuring myself.

This weeks challenge was a fun one, as it was to be a photo capturing a pocket of light, I found that our french doors at the rear of our house allowed me to capture just that...

I took two photos this week, one was what I call my cutie...that being Roly boy, looking out the window waiting for his Dad to get home from work....it has been quite hot here lately so we tend to stay under the air conditioner trying to stay cool. Usually, late into the afternoon, Roly sits and waits for Darryl to arrive home, as he knows that is his dinner time.

100_7282

The other was what I call the UGH! pile, yes my nightmare...the ironing..the ever growing pile that has been sitting in a basket ready to be ironed...I don't know about you, this chore of the household chores is my pet hate...I will do anything else bar it, and hence it seems to grow and grow....

100_7264

Having fun playing along with Carly's challenges and I am so looking forward to waking up in the morning to see what next weeks will be...

Now, before I leave you all, I just want to send out the hugest thanks to all my readers and twitter friends that have sent me lots of love, support and get well wishes, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I do promise that I will be back to blogging again normally soon.

Don't forget there will be a huge thing happening here on the blog tomorrow, so be sure to pop on by, you won't want to miss....

Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Vintage Balloon!

Hello Friends...well once again I am here to bring you a new Challenge for Simon Says...this week will be a fun week for you all as it an Anything Goes challenge, which means you can create what you like and enter for a chance to win.

This week the DT gals are using Echo Park..to see what the gals have created and more details of the challenge just click the blinkie below...

Photobucket

Here is the card that I created this week...and if you are like me from time to time we all struggle making that perfect male card, so I thought I would share one here that is pretty straight forward to create.

100_7251

Using the Echo Park, For the Record paper pack, I took some pattern paper from that collection, for the main section I trimmed it to be slightly smaller then a card front, corner rounded the top and bottom right hand corners. Next, taking more pattern paper from that collection, I trimmed one smaller strip and the other I punched a postage strip using the Fiskars, Postage Border punch, adding both of these strips to the main pattern paper. To finish this section of the card, I added a border sticker from the same collection, along with some twine. I then took one of the element stickers, which was the balloon and added it to the pattern paper using foam dimensionals. Completing the card, by adding a sentiment stamped on a banner, some rhinestones and then added this to a trimmed Smokey Shadow card, that had the corresponding corners rounded.

So by using elements from the paper pack and stamping a sentiment you can create a fairly quick card and a simple one, well let's face it, not many guys like too much on their cards.

I cannot wait to see all your creations this week...make sure to enter to win...

Okay I am off to rest, have been in quite a bit of pain, so things around here are rather limiting...

Hugs to you all!
